Natasha II

We texted everyday..mostly she was the one doing all the talking while I just listened to her rambling about her life, friends, teacher and her mum..I was a good listener because I always give response..After a year, she picked up certain Malaysian words such as 'nasi lemak', 'kucing','selamat pagi'..it was funny to see a Malay girl talk in Malay weirdly..It's like she's not even Malay ..I always laughed when she tried so hard to speak in Malay with my friends with her American accent..but she hates it when I do that..After about a year and a half in Malaysia, it was time for her family to move back to America..her father got a job in the University of Minnesota..I was really sad because we've got along so well..she cried and texted me before she left..I tried not to feel sad to see her go but we promised to keep in touch with each other..But after I've finished elementary school and started high school, we rarely text..Life changes and she changes but in a good way..I wish her the best of luck..

Natasha

I know..I know..NO, she's not my girlfriend..she's just a friend so let's just drop it okay..It all started when we were young..I was 12 years old and she was 12..and a half..anyway, we first met when my mum and I visited her parent's house because my mum and her mum are close friends..when  we first met, the first thing that I thought was that this dowdy little girl standing in front of me is quite shy..she had brown creamy skin and silky, black, shining hair..I thought that she is not  interested in talking to me so I keep quiet while both of our mothers keep chatting..after several meetings, we begin to talk and get to know each other..remember how I said that Natasha was really shy, well I  was wrong..she's talkative and one of the things that suprised me at first was that she can't speak Malay really well..she was born in USA..Conneticut, I think..Her father works there as a lecturer at the University Of Conneticut..can you imagine a Malay girl can't speak Malay..I can imagine how thousands of Malay including myself cant speak English but this girl is special..so we talked in English although my English weren't that good but she seemed to understand what I'm saying..Meeting her everyday made us close...we became best friends because of that..

TED

TED..I know what you're thinking and no TED is not a person..TED stands for Technology Entertainment Design..it is a global sets of conference and the events are held in Europe, U.S, and Asia..Wide range of topics are address within the research and practice of science and culture.. speakers are given 18 minutes to present their ideas in the most innovative and creative way..I was surprised that Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Google founder Larry Page and Sergey Brin had  also presented their ideas through TED..this was amazing..There is a website for TED where people can watch the presentation of various ideas from scientist, engineer and  astronomer.. One of the coolest thing that I found out in TED is the presentation of an idea by Marco Tempest..He is Swiss magician presenting an idea about the magic of truth and lies by using three Ipods...

What is happening in Syria?

I'm very curious about what is happening in Syria..I'm not the kind of person that always watch the news so I wanted to get to know more about it..After I have done my research about it I have learn that the peaceful country of Syria is now corrupted and is a victim of a devastating war...I was surprised by the number of people that were killed in the past two years in Syria..It was 10000 people..How could this happen? Here is why..It all started two years ago when Syrians in the southern border city of Deraa took to the streets in protests against the arrest and mistreatment of youth caught posting anti-government graffiti at their school. The government responded to the protests with what has been described as a brutal crackdown. When video of the crackdown spread, so did the protests...

How to make Chocolate Pudding

I learn this one recently..tried it once and it worked like a charm..most of us don't really know how to make chocolate pudding but don't worry Chef Aziz is here to save the day...Okay, here it goes..

Firstly, you will need a:

  • medium saucepan
  • 1/2 cup of  cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 2 cups of milk
  • whisk
  • egg
  • mixing bowl
  • 1/4 cup of chocolate chips
  • small ramekins
After that,

  1. mix the cocoa powder, cornstarch and sugar in a medium saucepan
  2. place the saucepan over medium heat and whisk in the milk..bring the mixture into a boil and keep on stir until it thickens
  3. add a teaspoon of your heated mixture to a bowl of egg to temper it..mix the egg with the heated mixture quickly
  4. add the bowl of tempered egg into the mixture
  5. add the chocolate chip into the mixture and stir it until they melt
  6. pour the pudding into small ramekins and refrigerate it for about 3 hours
I don't know if it would work or not but it won't for you to try right? So, good luck trying..

Nun Bullen (Anne Boleyn)

Lady Ann Boleyn was the second wife to King Henry VIII..King Henry is the second monarch of the Tudor dynasty succeeding  his father, Henry VII..He was known for his role in the separation of the Church of England from the Roman Catholic Church..Henry was also known for marrying multiple times without producing a son  to succeed  his throne..After Henry married Anne Boelyn, she gave birth to Elizabeth I which Henry was very discouraged as he was expecting a son..Three miscarriage followed and luck seemed not to be on their side..However, Henry was courting Jane Seymour and surely it made Anne more determined to  have a son..On 1536, Henry had Anne investigate for high treason and she was sent to the Tower of London where she was tried before jury of peers..She was beheaded four days later with the charges of adultery, incest and witchcraft..I really pity Anne Boelyn because she was just trying her best to make her husband happy by bearing a son  but in the wrong way of course..The pressure that Henry put on her was unfair..He was cruel to her and intended to divorce her if she did not give him a son...She was executed for having affairs to six other men and one of them was his own brother..Anne Boelyn was known as The Doomed Queen..

Die Hard Fan!!

Liverpool FC..It is one of the most prestigious and successful football club in Europe..It has over 71 million fans worldwide and I am one of them..It all started with my father..He was studying in the UK..His college was located in Merseyside which is a metropolitan county in North West England..Liverpool is located in Merseyside..My father discovered his passion toward this football club when one of his friend invite him to watch a football match in Anfield..Anfield is the LFC stadium and was considered as one of the most historical stadium in England..My father told me the experience to be in a stadium where people would sing and cheer the team together without concerning races or religion of others..His passion towards LFC was passed on to us..I even knew all the LFC players name past and present...there are the legendary top LFC goalscorer Kenny Dalglish, Steve Mcmanaman, Ian Rush, John Barnes and my own personal favourite Steven Gerard..I grew up as a die hard fan of Liverpool despite that I never been there before..

Exam..Is it Good or Bad??

Exam..to take or not to take it..that is the question..(improved quote in Shakespeare's play entitled "Hamlet")..sometimes we often ask ourselves  why do we even take exam and what is the benefit of it..like my friend in high school used to say.."why should we take exam, it's endangering the ecosystem by cutting down thousands of tree to make the exam sheets"..I burst into laugh after he told me that although I don't know if he was joking or if he was being serious about it..I don't completely disagree with his statement but I always thought that exam will benefit us in the future..It enhance our mind as we have to make revision and study a little bit harder to pass will flying colors..Can you imagine an average students life without any exam? It would be chaos..students won't even bother to make revision or even learn in classes..But sometimes exam can be disadvantageous to a student as it puts pressure on the students to perform..This can caused lower grades..Other than that, exam can only indicate knowledge and learning on a particular question..students won't be able to learn freely without the pressure to excel in their exam..

Meteor Shower??In Malaysia??

It was 12 August and I heard that a meteor shower were expected to put up a display starting 11 p.m...it was also said that it can be seen from any open space with clear skies...A meteor shower??This never happen in Malaysia before..As soon as I heard I knew I had to watch it..the Perseid meteor can be seen with the naked eye as it was so clear and bright..I stay up late just to catch the spectacular moment in my entire life..after 11 p.m...I camped outside with my Pop-Up tent along with my brother..he was a huge fan of astronomy so I figured that I invite him with me..we stayed for hours and nothing could be seen...when we thought all hope were lost, we saw a bright and clear star moving at high speed..it was the meteor shower!!we were so surprised that we caught it on film...hope the video would go viral if we post it on Youtube..

Hard Work Is The Key To Success

There is a quote by the famous  Stephen Hawking that says "talent is cheaper than table salt. What separate the talented individual from the successful one is hard work"...this explain it all..talent means nothing if we do not work hard to achieve something..I always asked myself these questions..what are the things that I lack if I do not achieve something...There it is...I need to work harder..Stephen Hawking was considered one of the brightest mind in our generation..He is an English theoretical physicist and a cosmologist..He is also entirely paralysed and  communicate through a speech generating device..but that did not stop him..he work really hard to achieve his target and goals.. he is now one of the most respected person in the world for his brilliance.. I learn from his achievement that nothing is impossible..we just need to work a little hard to grab hold of it..

Why I Hate Travelling

Okay...I know most people like to travel all around the world and despite my topic it would create controversy...some people might ask "why would you hate travelling?"..this question often came up if I bring out the topic of how I hate travelling the most..Firstly, if you are travelling you have to pack your stuff such as food, clothes, toiletries and so on..I really hate to pack all these requirement as I would spend a lot of time doing so..Secondly, I'm the type of person who would easily get motion sickness on a plane so it would be a "pain in the ass" to endure that type of mental torture..some people might get the same idea about it and would rather travel lightly rather than overcoming hours of flight or as we would say "the part where I'm gonna be sick throughout the whole flight"...Thirdly, homesickness...this is some serious issues..when I was 10 my family and I moved to the UK for three years...I missed Malaysian food so much that my mum had to get expensive spices from the Indian food market to cook me a Malaysian delicacies so that I would like home..so that is it...some people would disagree with me but this is my opinion and everyone have their rights to give their own opinion right?

Farewell sister

USA...that's where my sister is going on Saturday...she's furthering her studies there..I was sad because she is going away for 4 years..my mom decided to throw a "going away"party before she leave...all of my siblings, relatives, and her friends would be coming to the party..I also decided to give her a present to her...it was a brown Gap sweater because I know the weather would be as cold as ice in Illinois..my sister is not the type of girl who would travel a lot..she was the one that would get motion sickness on every flight when we were on our family trip..I was afraid that she won't be able to resist the "pain" throughout her 17 hours flight..so I gave her some tips to avoid motion sickness and advice her to take some pills before the flight..I was really sad to see her go..we are very close to each other..although I have four sister but she is the one that is closest to me despite our age difference..but I wish her the best of luck and to work hard on her studies abroad..

FC Barcelona In Malaysia!!!

It was the 10th of August...that day was one of the biggest day of my life as I was going to watch a FC Barcelona match in the Stadium Shah Alam...Barcelona are one of the most biggest football club in Europe and even the world..I was looking forward to this in all my entire life because I'm a massive Barcelona Football Club fan...my brother and I bought the ticket early as we were afraid that the ticket might sold out...although the ticket was quite expensive but I think it was worth it and it's even Hari Raya..we predicted that there wouldn't be huge crowd of people at the stadium but we were wrong...the crowd was massive..it turns out a lot of people sacrificed their Hari Raya for this match..as we entered the stadium we got to see the player train..the Malaysian squad trained for about half an hour on the pitch and then there was a large roar from the crowd as the Barcelona player entered the pitch...It was an amazing atmosphere in the stadium...the match was intense with a lot of tackles and fouls from both sides..at the end the match ended  3-1 to Barcelona...I was unhappy as I did not get to see the best player in the world, Lionel Messi, play in our home turf..but I enjoyed the exhilarating match between Barcelona and Malaysia..It was one of the best experience in my entire life..

The Innocent Traitor

The Innocent Traitor..it was a novel that I read about Lady Jane Grey..she was the daughter of Lady Jane Seymour who was King Henry VIII..King Henry was known as the lustful, egotistical, harsh, and insecure king..Lady Jane Grey was an innocent child to a scheming father and a ruthless mother..Her parents connive to use their intelligent daughter as a pawn in a dangerous dynastic game after the death of her cousin, King Edward..I pity her because she has no intention to rule as she prefer to immerse herself in books and religion...but she was forced to accept the crown..it was a great book...I couldn't explain much as I could reveal some spoilers..overall I think it was am amazing novel and suitable for teenager and adults..

Eid al-Fitr

Hari Raya...it was the day when Muslim all around the world celebrate the end of Ramadhan..Muslims in Malaysia also celebrate Hari Raya as it was considered one of the most celebrated holiday..it was a glorious day for me and my family too..we were looking forward for this special day..we made early  preperations so that we would not rush when Hari Raya are days away..my mother made awesome kuih that I always love to eat...my father even bought "pelita" which is kinda like a lantern of some sort..I always felt like if I was in my hometown even though we are not going back because my father had to get back to work early..but it was fine..our family understand..our relatives even came by to visit us during Raya...they brought Lemang, Satay,Nasi Himpit and all sorts of Malaysian delicacies...We were so happy during Raya and I hope that everyday was Hari Raya..
